Happy Birthday Teddy!

xxx thanks Connie; we love you and I know they do as well! I found this in my “draft” posts; I must have forgot to push publish! Sorry! To think, he is almost 4 now. Wow, time flies when your having fun! Hope all is well~ Jeff  x Vicky x doodles

Dear Vicky and Jeff,

Today was Teddy’s (Theadorable) birthday. He was three years old.

Beautiful, wonderful boy and I love him more and more each day.

The only thing I love as much as Teddy is Jakey.

What a pair! Everybody comments about how special they are.

Only I know how truly wonderful these guys are (and all the other “parents” of Libby’s off-springs)

I can only imagine how many families you have blessed with these wonderful creatures.

Thank you so much.

Love,

Connie, Teddy and Jakey

Baby Izzy update!

I was reading emails and doing some updates when the email sound informed me, I have mail! Baby Izzy pictures! There were so many I had to make her own album!  Thanks so much for the pictures; I love watching them grow and love hearing about their family life.  Thanks again and keep the updates coming!

Vicky,

We finally have pictures! She is a wonderful dog. There are a few new puppies on the street and Izzy taught one of the dogs (9 weeks old) to go down their front steps. She is very chill and loves to be around people and other dogs. She has a little anxiety when we leave for work but we are working on that. She is attached to both of us, when one leaves she waits by the door and whines (no barking- which is wonderful). She is perfect in every way- we love her like a child. The dog walker loves how she gives kisses, anyone who sees her just loves her and wants one of their own. Thanks for such a wonderful dog, she is such a happy spirit.

Naps and reminder to be doodle-ful :)

I had an email from Bosley/Annie owner Bonnie. She was visiting with other dogs at the dog park and discussed the importance of early handling. I try to stress it as we do it from birth, but it never hurts to also hear it agian! Thanks Bonnie. I have the link for our doodle owners, but this is a good “re-visit” and reminder why it is important. She followed with another funny congo-nap line of doodles with their buddy Eddie. Eddie’s health had declined, but seems the two doodles have added some juice to his step…. Thanks Bonnie!

Hey Vicky…I was talking with another dog owner this morning at the dog park. xx said that xxx doesn’t like to have her ears touched and that when she was groomed the groomer couldn’t do her ears because she fussed.  It got me thinking about your website instructions to the new puppy owners and wondered if somewhere you mentioned the importance of feeling the puppy all over their bodies.  I  know everyday from the time Boz and Annie came home I felt between their toes, handled their toe nails, looked into their ears, gently stuck my finger in their ears, opened their mouth and stuck my finger in their mouths, gently tugged at their tails and ears, as well as putting my hands on every part of their body.  We did this every day and it was like a bonding exercise.  In my mind it’s better to do all this when they are just weeks old and not have to deal with touch issues when they are older and go to the groomers or the vets.  It’s something I haven’t thought about in a long time, but when xxx mentioned xxx sensitivity it brought about the thought process.

I thought you’d get a laugh out of this picture that Bruce took yesterday.  There is no way we could ever stage something like this, but for some reason the dogs decided to take their afternoon nap all line up according to size…I think it is hilarious!  Note too that Bosley is squeezing his big self into Eddie’s dog crate.  He’s begun to do that lately…I would think it would be uncomfortable, but perhaps he’s trying to prove that he’s really a very small dog under all that fur.

Big Izzie update

we have two Izzy’s (Izzie and baby Izzy) which can get confusing; but then again; we have 3 Zoey’s, 2 Daisy’s and 2 Rosie’s in the line. But, just show me a picture and I know who you are!

Big Izzie is our Girl that is up and coming and we are very excited about her lines. She is with a guardian family that will be her forever home and to make things even more confusing; her name is Vicky (with a Y) as well. “A rose by any other name still smells as sweet”…

Here is an email update about Big Izzy who lives the life of a volkswalker/doodler with the most wonderful family.

Hi Jeff and Vicky,

Just to let you know, Izzie continues to thrive.  She is a great joy, and has become quite a celebrity at the dog park.  Her behaviour is gettingh better, she seems more in tune with what is expected of her now.  She continues to enjoy her little meals, and knows when meal times are.  Her and the cat still do agree to disagree, but Izzie gets along well with other home cats.

I do think Izzie seems to really love both Loyd and I.   We are thankful that she is not a barker, except once in awhile when she gets excited or irritated with the cat, or is trying to get less active  dogs to play with her at the dog park.    She has no need to bark, since all her needs are met!
Blessings,  Vicky

Baby Izzy (Rosie) update

Yes, I have been behind with my updates for the litter mates. Here is my update about baby Rosie (Izzy).  Thanks and I do look forward to sharing pictures!

Hi Vicky!

Izzy is doing great!  We can’t believe how quickly she is growing (she’s almost 12 lbs) and how happy she is all the time.  She has adjusted to city life but enjoys going to our parents’ house on the weekends to play in the yard.  It seems like things have been non-stop since she arrived!  She has started to lose her baby teeth (five so
far) during the past few weeks.  We have been a little behind on taking pictures, but we will take a few this weekend to send to you.
Hope everything is well with you.

We’ll be in touch!

Oh Goodie; a Bentley (Clyde) update!

Ah; this is great! Below is an email from Clyde the Glide (Bentley) forever family. Bentley was from the start a “fun lover”. Don’t worry, he will train up well; he just is working those angles and has your numbers. Plus, as we chat with other owners, he is in the juvenile stage that can be a kin to shall we say, testing the boundary lines. This too shall pass but also, as a mother you have to give it a little nip in the bud and as hard as it is since he is so cute; expect more from him. He will not disappoint.

I can feel the love between the words; now, lets work on a bit of tough love; don’t let him flutter his eye lashes and have his way with you. “Train up a child the way they should go” also works on doodles. :) Hard, since they are so smart and cute. Love the love fest comments!

Hi Vicky. I’m out of town and my youngest daughter and husband are taking care of little boy. He has the most loving and funny personality. He sat in front of the window for ten minutes admiring himself.

Got so tired he had to lie down to continue the love fest. We are all in love and the only concern is he is super hyper. I work with him daily on no jumping and running away. We walk 2 times a day and he swims in the pool. He won’t ever come when called even for any treats. So a little tiring and disobedient but we adore the guy. Hired a trainer who follows v. Stillwell and he can do well at times.

Gone to 2 puppy classes where he can be the ring leader of fun and running. So some challenges but again we are working hard to guide him right. Just wish we could get him to come to us when called. We always have to have a leash to step on and catch him since he is too fast. …when I get home I will send pics of the lil boy who won’t obey his mom.

Oh Goodie! An Ace (Roman) update!

Yippee! We had an Ace update! Below is the old copy/paste. We have been wondering about how he is doing and I hear from Jeff that we might be getting some pictures. Jeff and Lee spoke and Ace is doing very well; was a star at the groomers and loves his new pack. :)

Vicky - xxx I was travelling to China and Europe the last three weeks and did not check this account.  In future please email my wife at xxx (removed).  she checks regularly. As an update:

1) Ace was wonderful – he and I had an instant connection when I picked him up at the airport.

2) He is doing great!!  We took him to the vet, got him his remaining shots, are crate training and loving him like a newborn baby!! :)

3) The girls are doing great with him – he totally dominates my youngest as he has put himself above her in the pack order, but in general he is really awesome!!! :)

- In general, we are extremely happy and thank you for your care and diligence in raising Ace!! he is truly an amazing puppy and has transitioned very nicely.  He has a routine, and lots of love…. By the way, I hear you may have a couple of litters coming….please send xxx pics as people have asked about where we got ace from….

Best regards,

Lee

Echo’s puppies are 1 week old!

Well, once again it is so fun to watch our babies grow, and then, it is like being “grand-doodles” as we watch our lines whelp. Echo was with us for a while as we took her through her gold paw testing. We get so attached, but they only go where we know they will be loved, healthy, happy doodles or simply put, they don’t go.

Here is a video snippet of Liberty’s Echo of a Graceful Chief, now a first time momma in the Netherlands.

Got to love Liberty!

I am sure that you will agree that no one does E card greetings with such flare as Jacquie Lawson. I went to her site to send a card and found this one which was just perfect for all my doodlers out there! Click on the picture to make it run.

Enjoy!
