This memorial day we pause and reflect. To all those who served, we thank you for our Liberty. We remember and are both honored and humbled by those who served in the past and are serving now.
Thank you. God Bless you.

Here is Luna, Belle’s daughter and sister of Annie. Bonnie reminded me they are 9 months old now! My, how time passes so quickly. And, they grow so fast!

Here is a photo of Bosley and Annie with their summer cuts. As Bonnie describes them, Bosley is very old soul, so I think of him as “salt of the earth”. Annie, she is like the wind, charming, flirty, a spicy; so I think calling this photo “Salt and Pepper” fits them. It really does capture who they are with their gaze here. And they are so loved.
Bonnie also did a painting of Annie but I am hoping she will be okay with me sharing it. I shall wait to hear from here.

Baby Izzy is happy in her new home, flying in to finally get her new family! Have a wonderful Life Izzy and we look forward to getting updates. I was trying out a sepia color on the photos and so here she is.
I wonder if that little saying dates me?
Mary and John D. came across Casey while in Maui and loved him so much, they have paid their deposit and are on the wait list. Welcome to the Liberty Labradoodle family!
We should have our whelp plans all decided by the end of this month and will post them on the web page under the puppy section and let the waiting families know.

I had this forwarded to us from a doodle owner and am sharing it with you. I don’t know if it is true, but here is the copy paste:
Please share this with all the pet owners you know and ask them to do the same – the information you take a few minutes to share might prevent the senseless loss of other pets.
Please tell every dog or cat owner you know. Even if you don’t have a pet, please pass this to those who do.

Over the weekend, the doting owner of two young lab mixes purchased Cocoa Mulch from Target to use in their garden. The dogs loved the way it smelled and it was advertised to keep cats away from their garden. Their dog (Calypso) decided the mulch smelled good enough to eat and devoured a large helping. She vomited a few times which was typical when she eats something new but wasn’t acting lethargic in any way. The next day, Mom woke up and took Calypso out for her morning walk . Half way through the walk, she had a seizure and died instantly.
Although the mulch had NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company’s web site, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs and cats.
Cocoa Mulch is manufactured by Hershey’s, and they claim that “It is true that studies have shown that 50% of the dogs that eat Cocoa Mulch can suffer physical harm to a variety of degrees (depending on each individual dog). However, 98% of all dogs won’t eat it.”
*Snopes site gives the following information: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/cocoamulch.asp *
Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Home Depot, Foreman’s Garden Supply and other Garden supply stores contains a lethal ingredient called ‘Theobromine’. It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks.
Theobromine is in all chocolate, especially dark or baker’s chocolate which is toxic to dogs. Cocoa bean shells contain potentially toxic quantities of theobromine, a xanthine compound similar in effects to caffeine and theophylline. A dog that ingested a lethal quantity of garden mulch made from cacao bean shells developed severe convulsions and died 17 hours later. Analysis of the stomach contents and the ingested cacao bean shells revealed the presence of lethal amounts of theobromine.

Ginger is doing VERY well, I think she is missing her brothers. She has already learned “down” and we are working on a consistant “sit”. I am feeling very refreshed this morning since she slept 10-6:20 (my alarm actually went off). Still working on the cats adjusting to her, she chased the big boy yesterday, it was quite funny. The kids love her and can’t wait to show her off to all of their friends.

*Ginger left on the day before Mother’s day. This was an excellent match for both Ginger and the family. I gave her a bath after her KING KONG needle for microchip… and then they played together. I knew it was their last time they would frolick together and so they ran like the spirits they are; living in the moment. It is a bit “bitter sweet” but I know they will all be loved forever. And now, I sit and warn them of the famous TP run through the house, the train them up as you want them to be… and I am happy. My puppies are with such great families and they each have something to teach each other. “life is so short, don’t stress, doodle”.
I think we need to come up with a bumper sticker…

Roman is the last to leave the nest. He is adopted, but his forever family is waiting as there are school teachers in the house. He will be desexed and recoup and then head out mid June. He has children to call his own.
Ginger is doing well and the parents pulled off a BIG surprise to their kids. Jeff drove her 1/2 way while the dad and children were at the movies. I came home and cleaned house before mother’s day. We had a nice gathering in our backyard as Baby Izzy played with family and friends.
I tried hard to make this a good mother’s day for my mother; the touchstone of the family and one that has gone through much in the last year. My mom is a woman that is amazing, juggling so many things as we grew without a hair out of place. She lets us all be we can be, while making sure we know to “be our self” but, our best self. She is truly the most wonderful woman I know and a good friend. And, our children, “bless their hearts” are sending us to Hawaii for our mother/father day present. I learned how to raise wonderful children from my mother.
(side note: my son is handsome and available, “must love dogs”… *for future mother in law*. I was so busy hosting I forgot to gather DNA swabs. But, trust me, I will report when that mission is complete).
Clyde flew today, saying goodbye to his foster family who were sad in seeing him go. You know they are being loved when it is hard for them to go. I assured them that Clyde will have a wonderful life with his new family.
Clyde was picked up today at the airport by his forever family. It sounds like although he did not enjoy his flight, he settled right into his forever home. Here is a copy and paste from his new family ( my favorite part was the “I have to tend to the baby”, melt my heart. My baby is in good hands). I also enjoyed that he was on Skype, sigh. Puppies now adays are so tech-savy…

Vicky,
He is wonderful!!!!!! He is on skype with my daughter and her friends who are still at college. He soiled his cage but we were prepared with the garbage bags and all, but I held him all the way home and by the time we got home he was looking around at everything. Once home he went to the back yard and ran around like crazy but followed me everywhere. I tried to tire him out but to no avail. We have him in his inside cage with both of us in view. He loves his new stuffed bunny. He is wrestling with it as we speak. He met the cat and dog and all went well. There are the occasional cries but he is doing fine.
I will keep you posted as we go along. Now he is in full vocals. He wants me off the computer. I have to go tend the baby!!!!
He will be much loved… don’t worry.
