Abby at 7 Weeks

Here is Abby’s 7 week old photo. We will take her 8 week (plus three days) later today as on their 8 week birthday they went in for their microchip, first shots and spay/neuter surgery. Happily they are almost back to 100% this litter recovered very quickly.

We have been busy with nursing the babies back to health, taking care of Lucy’s litter that are now a week old and working with some last of the season home updates before winter hits. I closed down the front gardens and need to put our veggie garden to bed after harvesting some pumpkins, gourds, and corn stalks for the upcoming holidays. The “bigs” as we call our big dogs are in need of a grooming before the weather gets too cold and they will have their last year in the garage as we work on building their new quarters this winter. Jeff has installed 3/4 of their new fenced area and is planting orchard grass for them to play.  Their new running area has hills and an area that will attach to their covered run with a covered walkway back and forth to the house. This year we found that Banner playing under the pine trees he was drenched with sap which is making a big mess with his wonderful coat and I can’t wait to fence those trees off. We planted a few trees for future shade for them to frolic under.  The puppy play yard will get a seeding of grass and we will add some more slats as we had some very tricky puppies fit through the fence to make their escape. Smart puppies!

Our camera battery is not holding a charge at all! Frustrating as the cell phone shots (that have come a long way) don’t show the clarity I would like  to share.  I love my nikon but the battery life is very short. Hopefully it is coming in the mail anytime now.  We have our family coming up to visit today along with Lucy’s guardian family coming to check in on her babies today.

More coming later today as we introduce the NCIS themed litter to the tunnel for the first time! They will be ready to go at the end of  October and currently all three are available.  I will try to get some video of it for uploading. Thanks for visiting!
